The Regional Collaborating Committee on Accelerated Response to Tuberculosis, HIV and Viral Hepatitis (RCC-THV) serves as a European platform for exchanging information and enhancing partnerships. It brings together national and international stakeholders, including civil society organizations, focused on the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and care of tuberculosis (TB), HIV and viral hepatitis.
The RCC-THV is administered by and housed in the WHO Regional Office for Europe, and it plays a crucial role in fostering collaboration among partners, ensuring they don’t operate in silos but enhance and reinforce each other’s efforts.
The RCC-THV’s ultimate mission is to contribute to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3 Target 3.3, which aims to end the epidemics of (among other things) AIDS and TB and combat viral hepatitis by 2030, and SDG 3 Target 3.8, which aims to achieve universal health coverage across the WHO European Region by fostering collaborative efforts and facilitating people-centred and community-based responses to TB (including multidrug-resistant TB/extensively drug-resistant TB), HIV (and sexually transmitted infections), and viral hepatitis prevention, diagnosis, treatment and care.
