Operational Guidance on Sharing Influenza Viruses

with Human Pandemic Potential (IVPP) under the Pandemic Influenza Preparedness (PIP) Framework

Vue d’ensemble

Following the recommendations from the “Review of the Pandemic Influenza Preparedness Framework” in 2016, the Global Influenza Programme (GIP), in collaboration with WHO Collaborating Centres (CCs) of the Global Influenza Surveillance and Response System (GISRS) and Regional Offices, has developed the “Operational Guidance on Sharing Influenza Viruses with Human Pandemic Potential (IVPP) under the Pandemic Influenza Preparedness (PIP) Framework”.

This guidance helps National Influenza Centres (NICs) and H5 Reference Laboratories of GISRS and other Nationally Authorized Laboratories to select and ship IVPP to WHO Collaborating Centres (WHO CCs) of GISRS under the Pandemic Influenza Preparedness (PIP) Framework.
