ECDD repository

The ECDD repository is a publicly accessible information repository which contains all pre-review and critical review reports considered by the Expert Committee on Drug Dependence (ECDD). In addition, the repository provides an overview on the recommendations proposed by the WHO to the international community and the current scheduling status of each psychoactive substance reviewed.

It acts to preserve past technical reports, documents and other information related to recommendations around international drug control. It allows an easy, user-friendly interface to search and find information.

The purpose of the repository is to provide the public, academics, health professionals, law enforcement and government staff an easy interface to find technical information about psychoactive substances that have been reviewed by the ECDD. People who access the repository can search and extract information from published Technical Reports, Critical Review and Pre-review reports.

The repository contains information on more than 450 substances considered by the ECDD from 1950- present. For the approximate 100 substances considered between 2014-2022 the information in the reporsitory is often the most comprehensive source of technical information about substances reviewed by the ECDD as it compiles international information from a variety of sources such as scientific literature, member states, open source information and international organisations.

The repository is a freely accessible collection of scientific information and reports on new psychoactive substances and controlled medicines together in a single webpage. Over 100 critical review or pre-review documents are fully available to access dating from 2006 to present. In addition, 38 Technical Report Series, covering more than 450 substances, are available to download that provide information from each ECDD meeting dating back to 1950.
