Objective of the programme
Bangladesh remains highly vulnerable to public health emergencies due to its dense population, recurring natural disasters, and health system challenges. The COVID-19 pandemic underscored the importance of Risk Community Engagement for early detection and response for mitigating the impact of health crises. With the support of the Pandemic Fund, Bangladesh is implementing a range of interventions to strengthen pandemic prevention, preparedness, and response capacities. To ensure efficient planning, implementation, monitoring, and visibility of community-based surveillance (CBS), a dedicated Pandemic Fund Consultant will be engaged.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
Under the overall guidance of the Team Leader- Health Security and Emergency Response (HSE), The incumbent will provide support through performing of the following duties (not limited to):
- Develop data collection tools, track and ensure progress on key workplan indicators and compile periodic progress reports, documenting achievements, challenges, and lessons learned.
- Support relevant agencies and partners in implementing workplan activities aligned with national pandemic preparedness priorities.
- Design a results-based monitoring and evaluation (M&E) framework for each sub-activity under the Pandemic Fund workplan.
- Support liaison between government counterparts, and development partners.
- Identify bottlenecks in implementation and propose timely solutions to ensure uninterrupted delivery of services and activities.
- Foster coordination across ministries, civil society organizations, media, and local government institutions involved in PF activities
- Ensure workplans integrate gender, disability inclusion, equity, and local community dynamics
- Support capacity building initiatives including workshops and training activities
- Develop and implement a visibility plan to highlight efforts under the Pandemic Fund.
- Coordinate production of human-interest stories, social media content, IEC materials, and audio-visual documentation showcasing program impact
- Submit monthly activity and quarterly achievement report
- Perform other duties, tasks, or activities assigned by the supervisor
