International Briefing Workshop on WHO PQP

WHO Country Office for India and WHO Prequalification of Medicines Programme (WHO-PQP) in partnership with the Concept Foundation organized a four-day workshop, titled ‘International Briefing Workshop on WHO Prequalification Programme for Indian Manufacturers of Essential Medicines in selected therapeutic categories: Reproductive Health, Tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS and Malaria’.

The workshop took place in New Delhi from 20-23 November 2012.

The objective of the workshop was to inform Indian manufacturers about the opportunities in WHO-PQP and to improve their understanding of the technical programme requirements. The workshop explained the needs for and working principles of the WHO Prequalification of Medicines Programme, its benefits for participating manufacturers, organization of WHO-PQP assessment and inspections, format and content of dossier to be submitted and GMP/GCP standards to be applied. The workshop benefited production and quality assurance managers, regulatory affairs professionals and those involved in development of generic medicinal products.
