The second international meeting of world pharmacopoeias was jointly hosted by the World Health Organization and Indian Pharmacopeia Commission, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India on 18-19 April 2013, in New Delhi, India.
Various WHO Member States’ pharmacopoeias worldwide attended this meeting as partners and deliberate on important issues of common interest, including the follow-up of the recommendations expressed during the first international meeting of world pharmacopoeias. During the meeting, a revised draft of a new guideline on good pharmacopoeial practices (GPhP) was deliberated upon with the participants.
Positioned as a strategic policy dialogue, the outcomes and recommendations of this meeting will be presented to the WHO Expert Committee on Specifications for Pharmaceutical Preparations, which advises the Director-General, WHO and WHO's Member States on future perspectives and strategic approaches in relation to pharmacopoeias.
