Overview

The year 2024 saw remarkable achievements in public health in India. India has eliminated trachoma as a public health problem and is close to eliminating kala-azar (visceral leishmaniasis). WHO’s field teams continued to play a pivotal role in supporting Government of India’s efforts to eliminate tuberculosis (TB), measles and rubella, malaria, leprosy, and lymphatic filariasis.
