Institutional supporters of
the Health for All Film Festival
The Health for All Film Festival works with key supporters to reach and engage people around the world with short films contributing to health promotion and health education. Annecy International Animation Film Festival
Created 60 years ago, the Annecy Festival is the world’s leading reference for animated films. With more than 12 000 accredited participants from 92 countries, and 120 000 entry tickets distributed every year, it receives annually more than 3 000 submissions. The Annecy Festival has supported WHO‘s inaugural Health for All Film Festival by promoting our call for films.
BBC Global News
BBC Global News operates the BBC's two international new services: BBC World News and BBC.com. We connect organizations with our curious and globally minded audiences, offering branded content and online digital series through BBC StoryWorks, our production agency. Combining our storytelling heritage with industry expertise, we look deeper into the issues shaping society for organizations leading change. We are delighted to support the World Health Organisation’s Health for All Film Festival, and share their commitment to amplify the voices, experiences and insights of those facing health challenges via film.
Drugs for Neglected Diseases initiative
The Drugs for Neglected Diseases initiative (DNDi) is a collaborative, patient-needs-driven, not-for-profit research and development (R&D) organization that develops safe, effective, and affordable treatments for the millions of people across the world affected by neglected diseases, notably human African trypanosomiasis (sleeping sickness), leishmaniasis, Chagas disease, filarial infections, pediatric HIV, mycetoma, and hepatitis C. DNDi supports the Health for All Film Festival by sharing information with its network and it has also won the GRAND PRIX for the video reports category in the 2020 edition of the Health for All Film Festival with the film "A doctor's dream - A pill for sleeping sickness".
Dutch Global Health Film Festival
The festival was set up in 2017 by members of the Dutch Society of Tropical Medicine and International Health to bring people together around issues in global health through film and dialogue. The 2021 programme has four feature-length films in key areas of global health: emerging pandemics, climate change, sexual and reproductive health and rights, and refugee and migrant health. The Dutch Global Health Film Festival supports the Health for All Film Festival by sharing information with its network and by participating as special guests in a panel discussion to promote health for youth with one of our winners.
Geneva University Hospital (HUG)
One of the main hospitals in Switzerland, the HUG operates eight hospitals in the Canton of Geneva as well as 40 outpatient clinics. The HUG supported our inaugural Health for All Film Festival by promoting the Festival through the health sector community in Geneva.
International Confederation of Midwives (ICM)
The International Confederation of Midwives supports, represents, and works to strengthen professional associations of midwives throughout the world. There are currently 142 midwives' associations, representing 123 countries across every continent. ICM supported our inaugural Health for All Film Festival by using its communication channels to promote the Festival.
International Council of Nurses (ICN)
The International Council of Nurses is a federation of more than 130 national nurses’ associations, representing more than 20 million nurses worldwide. ICN supported our inaugural Health for All Film Festival by sharing information about the Festival with their network and inviting all associations to participate and create inspiring content for submission.
MED
MED is a non-profit series of city-based festivals celebrating medicine and health through a diverse public program of 100+ experiences, exhibitions, talks, and activities in London, Sydney, New York, Los Angeles, and Singapore. As part of their 2022 program, MED hosted free in-person screenings of the winning and shortlisted HAFF films, including conversations with filmmakers and judges.
NCD Alliance
The NCD Alliance is a global partnership founded in May 2009 that has developed a robust global network of more than 2,000 organizations in 170 countries. This includes global and national NGOs, scientific and professional associations, academic and research institutions, private sector entities, and dedicated individuals. NCDA maintains strategic relations with the World Health Organization, UN, and governments, putting it at the forefront of elevating noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) onto the global health and development agenda. The NCD Alliance supports the Health for All Film Festival by promoting it within its network and it has also won the NCDs FILM PRIZE in the 2020 edition with the film "Living without limits".

It is our privilege to support the Health for All Film Festival (HAFF). The film is such a powerful story-telling medium, helping to raise awareness and promote global health issues. It is marvelous to see so many creative entries through various HAFF editions made for championing health and education. SameYou is a Non-Governmental Organisation founded by actor and activist, Emilia Clarke, dedicated to creating a future where anyone affected by brain injury can achieve their best possible recovery by accessing long-term physical, psychological, and emotional recovery services to treat the whole person. Working as a catalyst for change, SameYou is the voice of brain injury, amplifying the needs of survivors and their families and partnering with multidisciplinary clinical teams and the public and private sectors.
Stiftung Gesunde Erde – Gesunde Menschen
The German Foundation Stiftung Gesunde Erde – Gesunde Menschen (GEGM meaning "Foundation Healthy Planet - Healthy People") communicates about the dependence of our health on climate change and explains how to keep Earth and people healthy, by following more sustainable models of living. GEGM targets political leaders, doctors and nurses, churches, and influencers such as actors, athletes, musicians, and NGOs with and without a climate-protection focus. GEGM is a non-partisan organization, cooperative, intergenerational, always remembering the power of good humor. The climate crisis threatens not only biodiversity but also our health. These risks can be overcome if we act now and the foundation communicates about positive future scenarios which are understandable to all, inspiring, and visionary. This is why GEGM supports the Health for All Film Festival and especially the promotion of short films on environmental health issues. We need inspiring and understandable images and videos about the interconnection of human health, planet health, and animal health.
Universal Health Coverage Partnership
The Universal Health Coverage Partnership is one of WHO’s largest platforms for international cooperation on universal health coverage (UHC) and primary health care (PHC). It helps deliver WHO’s support and technical expertise in strengthening health systems to make health for all a reality. The Partnership works in 115 countries and areas, representing a population of at least 3 billion people. It is funded by the European Union, the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, Irish Aid, the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, the Government of Japan, the United Kingdom - Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office, Belgium, Canada, and Germany. The UHC Partnership proudly supports the Heath for All Film Festival and its vision of giving a voice to people and communities by empowering filmmakers to bring stories from the field that capture our shared global journey towards Health for All.
World Federation of Science Journalists
The World Federation of Science Journalists (WFSJ) is a multinational organization dedicated to improving the caliber of science journalism and communication through a wide variety of activities — from workshops to conferences to mentorship programs — with partners that include commercial companies, universities, governments, and NGOs. Some 10,000 individuals — writers, editors, broadcasters, and students — make up the WFSJ membership, which consists of distinct associations in dozens of countries across the globe. Members of the WFSJ see their own values reflected in the global reach and educational aspirations of the World Health Organization’s Health for All Film Festival. We have been proud to promote and take part in this initiative, which transcends political, geographical, and cultural borders to share stories of struggle, courage, and hope in a wide range of settings.
