On 28 January 2025, the implementing entities are organizing an annual National Coordination Meeting in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan. The meeting will bring together implementing partners, such as representatives from the Ministry of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan, State Veterinary Service of Turkmenistan, Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan, Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan and other interested stakeholders.

To enhance health, economic stability, social development and environmental sustainability, the central Asian countries are collaborating to strengthen their ability to prevent, prepare for and respond to potential pandemics and epidemics. By adopting a One Health approach to pandemic prevention, preparedness and response (PPR), they are working together with the support of the Quadripartite Alliance for One Health. The Alliance includes the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, United Nations Environment Programme, World Bank and WHO.

The main goal of the Pandemic Fund project, to be implemented in central Asian countries, is to enhance and reinforce the veterinary, environmental and health systems involved in managing PPR during pandemics. Additionally, it contributes to strengthening long-term capacity in central Asian countries, which in turn enhances their PPR and minimizes the effects of future pandemics.
