IT equipment handed over to strengthen Early Warning, Alert and Response System in Nepal

Kathmandu, Bagmati Province - WHO, Country Office for Nepal, handed over IT equipment, including laptops and projectors, to the Epidemiology and Disease Control Division (EDCD), Ministry of Health and Population, to support strengthening of the Early Warning, Alert, and Response System (EWARS) in Nepal. WHO’s EWARS, a simple and cost-effective way disease surveillance system, is designed to improve disease outbreak detection in emergency settings. These equipment will be provided to the medical recorders at the federal and provincial hospitals (EWARS sentinel sites) to facilitate quick sharing of information to enable timely decisions and actions.
