10-11 June | Kathmandu, Bagmati province - The Curative Service Division (CSD), Department of Health Services, Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) conducted a consultative workshop on Electronic Health Records (EHR) and Telemedicine (TM) to gain insights gathering lessons to develop the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for integrated EHR and TM in Nepal that support the MoHP’s implementation of the eHealth Strategy and Roadmap. Over 65 participants, including medical doctors and EMR/TM focal points from hospitals, shared best practices, experiences and challenges faced by federal and provincial authorities and hospitals while implementing EHR and TM, and provided recommendations for drafting the SOP which intends to standardize existing, and regulate and facilitate new, digital interventions. Participants were also oriented on the digital health ecosystem in Nepal and the broader EHR and TM landscape. The CSD team, with support from WHO and stakeholders, will now draft the SOP, which will be discussed in a follow-up workshop at the end of June 2024.
