8-12 April | Nagarkot, Bagmati Province – The Family Welfare Division, under the Ministry of Health and Population, in collaboration with WHO-trained facilitators conducted the inaugural orientation on managing programmes on reproductive, maternal, newborn, child and adolescent health (RMNCAH) using course programme developed by WHO Regional Office for South-East Asia. The five-day orientation programme, supported by WHO Country Office for Nepal, established a cohort of facilitators to further train programme managers on RMNCAH programme planning and implementation for improving the quality and coverage to meet the country's RMNCAH goals. 26 participants from nursing, public health and paramedic backgrounds − all responsible for managing RMNCAH programs at federal, provincial, district and local levels − were introduced to the program management modules and explored how to adapt and utilize course materials to bolster planning and management of RMNCAH programmes at both national and sub-national levels. WHO will continue to support the course's implementation in Nepal.
