Koshi province - WHO Nepal formally handed over the Provincial Health Emergency Operation Center (PHEOC) of Koshi Province. Health Emergency Operation Centers (HEOCs) serve as crucial coordination hubs, ensuring timely, organized, and effective responses to disasters and public health emergencies. From the 2015 Nepal earthquake to more recent crises, Nepal’s HEOC network has played a vital role in saving lives and sustaining essential health services. With support from the Pandemic Fund, WHO has assisted in establishing seven PHEOCs and one central HEOC, all of which have now been formally handed over to the Government of Nepal. This milestone underscores the strong collaboration between the federal and provincial health ministries and WHO Nepal.
