11-12 September | Dhangadi, Sudurpashchim Province – The Epidemiology and Disease Control Division (EDCD), Ministry of Health and Population, in collaboration with WHO Country Office for Nepal, organized a two-day advocacy and interaction workshop on Rapid Response Teams (RRTs). Over 40 representatives from provincial ministries, health divisions, RRT focal persons and partners discussed the formation of RRTs, which play a critical role in responding to public health emergencies at the provincial, district and municipal levels. The program supported the establishment of RRT committees, in alignment with the RRT and Emergency Medical Deployment Team guidelines, and national assessments, including the Joint External Evaluation (JEE). Interactive sessions addressed ongoing outbreaks, EDCD’s response mechanisms, and district and provincial progress.
