13-15 March | Kathmandu, Bagmati Province - Organized by the Ministry of Health and Population and WHO South-East Asia Regional Office, a three-day workshop on capacity building for effective community involvement to end tuberculosis (TB) in the WHO South-East Asia Region was held. WHO Regional Director for South-East Asia, Dr. Poonam Khetrapal Singh, emphasized that community involvement and empowerment will be important to achieve the goal of ending tuberculosis by 2030, especially by identifying gaps in service delivery, and finding innovative, people-centered solutions. Civil society representatives from nine countries in the South-East Asia region participated in the workshop, who also emphasized community involvement in identifying symptoms and patients in the community.
