The Hon'ble Minister, Mr. Bhanubhakta Dhakal (Ministry of Health and Population), addressing the 73rd World Health Assembly (WHA) 2020 on behalf of the Government of Nepal, and taking a firm stance on #HealthForAll

He states:

  • I would like to express high appreciation and sincere gratitude to the frontline health workers for their untiring efforts in COVID-19 response.

  • COVID-19 has no boundaries and does not discriminate. It is our collective responsibility to fully secure the health rights of all people.

  • High-level political commitment, while institutionalizing federalization, has been instrumental.

  • Upcoming challenging days has emphasized the need for resilient and responsive health systems and sustained levels of in-country medical goods and services.

  • The efforts by World Health Organization (WHO) and other national and international stakeholders have been commendable; further proved the historic role played by these organizations in protecting human health.

  • I would like to emphasize the unified efforts by the member states for universal health security.
