Kathmandu, Bagmati province - The Management Division, under the Department of Health Services (DOHS), and WHO Nepal organized a one-day workshop on 20 June to finalize the guideline for the management of biomedical equipment. The workshop, chaired by the Director of the Management Division, brought together over 30 participants, including the Health Secretary from the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), Directors of the Provincial Health Logistics Management Centers (PHLMCs), representatives from the Provincial Ministries, and other senior officials from MoHP and the DOHS. Once endorsed, the guideline will strengthen the management of biomedical equipment across national health facilities, enhancing access to and availability of essential medical devices. WHO will continue to provide technical support throughout the endorsement process and support the MoHP in developing standard operating procedures for the logistics and maintenance of biomedical equipment.
