24-27 September,| Surkhet, Karnali Province - The National Health Training Centre, Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), and WHO Country Office for Nepal, organized the Hospital Preparedness for Emergencies (HOPE) training - a comprehensive training on disaster preparedness and response for effective management of disaster and public health emergencies at the health facility level. 28 health-care workers from the hub and satellite hospital networks of 10 districts of Karnali province, including health-care workers of academia and security authorities (Nepal Army, Nepal Police and Armed Police Force, Nepal) were trained in Surkhet, Lumbini province. The training enhanced participants' technical capacity in health emergency management, specifically focusing on the International Health Regulations (2005) and the Joint External Evaluation (JEE), aligning with the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction. The training was supported by the European Commission, and was also conducted in Lumbini and Sudurpashchim provinces.
