29-30 May | Dhangadhi, Sudurpashchim Province – The Epidemiology and Disease Control Division, Department of Health Services, Ministry of Health and Population, organized a two-day provincial One Health workshop in Dhangadhi. Supported by the WHO Country Office for Nepal and USAID, the workshop brought together over 45 diverse stakeholders from federal, provincial, and local levels, including representatives from public health, animal health, agriculture, environment, food, academia and partners such as FAO and USAID. Participants identified opportunities to foster cross-sectoral collaborations, exchange knowledge, and develop actionable recommendations to advance One Health approaches in the province, including strengthening surveillance systems, to address emerging health threats proactively. WHO will continue to support activities related to the One Health approach.
