The World Health Organization is inviting you to the fifth webinar in a series on the Commercial Determinants of Health. This webinar will set out to investigate the particular governance challenges that are met when governing the commercial determinants of health. By gaining insight into the barriers and enablers that those governing the commercial determinants of health may encounter, the webinar aims to start the conversation around which tools may be helpful and/or available to policy-makers working in this area. Within this context, the speakers in this webinar will share their experiences with governing the commercial determinants of health; provide insight into the complexity of shifting away from policy responses that prioritize commercial gain over human and planetary health, and; reflect on to what extent and how we may require a change in the principles underpinning policy-making to enable such a shift.

Why

Therefore, WHO has launched a series of webinars for a diverse audience that will explore the evidence base for commercial determinants of health, how they manifest in practice, and potential actions at different levels and by different actors.
Participants
WHO encourages the participation of a diverse global audience including public-interest civil society organizations, academic experts and students, donors and philanthropic partners, policymakers at a national and local level, WHO staff across levels, regions and programmes and UN agencies.
