Overview

This executive summary provides an overview of the mpox infection prevention and control (IPC) and water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) strategic actions that the World Health Organization (WHO) recommends be implemented in countries with active outbreaks of mpox. These key actions were developed based on the global mpox strategic preparedness and response plan; they aim to ensure the safe provision of care and to mitigate and control community transmission while protecting patients, health and care workers and caregivers in health-care settings.
