Inception workshop for launching BIN (Bhutan, India and Nepal) Project funded by Codex Trust Fund

Overview

An inception workshop was organized by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) on 21 June 2019 in Delhi for launching BIN (Bhutan, India and Nepal) Project funded by Codex Trust Fund (CTF). This is the first group project approved by CTF at global level and first CTF project to be implemented in Asia. The workshop was attended by national food safety authorities and key stakeholders from Bhutan, India and Nepal and facilitated by WHO. The workshop was important to define roles and responsibilities of implementing agencies (Bhutan Agriculture and Food Regulatory Authority, FSSAI and Department of Food Technology and Quality Control), CTF, WHO and to clarify issues and challenges in implementing this project including group activities. The participating countries agreed on timelines for project implementation in 2019.
