Regional workshop on Quality Management System and Biosafety in Laboratories, Pune, India
Overview
This Regional workshop on quality management system (QMS) and, Biosafety in laboratories in South East Asia Region was organized to develop a core group of trainers who can support member states in implementation of laboratory quality system using laboratory quality stepwise implementation (LQSI) tool developed by Royal tropical Institute (KIT-Amsterdam-NL) for the WHO. This regional core group of trainers were also oriented on packaging and shipping of infectious laboratory specimens as per UN norms.
Thirty one participants from eight SEAR countries viz Bangladesh, Bhutan, Indonesia, India, Maldives, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Thailand attended this workshop.
The Workshop was facilitated by the experts from Royal Tropical Institute (KIT Biomedical Research), Amsterdam NL, WHO Headquarters, Geneva and from the South-East Asia Regional Office.
