An open webinar Asia-Pacific Tripartite Webinar on prevention and control of neglected parasitic zoonoses (NPZ) convened jointly by the Regional Tripartite composed of WPRO, SEARO, FAO Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific (FAORAP) and World Organization for Animal Health (WOAH) on 16 February 2023. Total 372 participants attended through Zoom and YouTube livestream.
The webinar provided overview of NPZs and the updates on prevention and control of NPZs in the Asia Pacific Region. It introduced new Tripartite tools and guidance on one health, human health, animal health, food safety and WASH. Then, panel discussion on importance of intersectoral cooperation and public-private partnership in control and prevention of NPZs was followed. The webinar was featured by Mentimeter for ice breaking session at the start and feedback at the end.
The webinar provided an opportunity to discuss new tools and guidance can be utilized to catalyze sustainable multi-sectoral coordination mechanisms in countries during Q&A session and panel discussion. Moreover, it highlighted the importance of accelerated effort on control and elimination of NPZ across the Asia-Pacific Region.
