Overview
This meeting provided a platform for health professionals and policy-makers to share insights, strategies and innovations, aimed at eradicating, eliminating and controlling neglected tropical diseases in the Region; high-ranking officials made notable contributions. The forum emphasized collaborative efforts; experts discussed policy recommendations, technological advancements and successful case studies, fostering a comprehensive approach to tackling NTDs across South-East Asia.
The specific objectives of the meeting were to:
- share the best practices from countries, and identify the existing gaps and bottlenecks for the control and elimination of NTDs in the South-East Asia Region;
- determine the way forward to operationalize the key priorities of the new NTD Regional Strategic Framework, namely (i) enhanced investment for accelerating and sustaining impact, (ii) integrated approaches to disease elimination, and (iii) regional collaboration and partnerships for innovation; and
- invigorate the commitment to accelerate the momentum gained and align the strategic direction and priorities among Member States, donors and partners for operationalizing the integrated approach, enhancing investment and forging regional partnership to sustain, accelerate and innovate to end NTDs in the Region
