The infodemic is propagated through the online information eco-system, making information and misinformation spread much faster than ever before. Tech platforms have been stakeholders in response to the pandemic. So how can we leverage the latest data-driven approaches to improve the promotion of high-quality information and slowing down the spread of misinformation online? What products and partnerships do we need to scale up and roll out widely to ensure that digital transformation combats misinformation and results in positive health impacts?
Track Objective
Over the course of three panel discussions, participants will review how infodemic and health misinformation have been experienced and countered through technology. They’ll discuss the most significant changes that have taken place in infodemic response since start of COVID-19 pandemic, and propose to address them going forward.
Outputs
As part of the COVID-19 infodemic response, public-private partnerships are needed to amplify verified information and counter misinformation.

20 November 2020 – What Solutions do Digital Technologies and Platforms Bring in Responding to Mis-/Disinformation During the Pandemic? As part of the dialogues leading up to the 11 December public event, the Misinformation in Medicine Summit hosted one of the tech track sessions where panelists discussed the role that tech companies and tech partnership must play to combat medical misinformation.
