Frontline service readiness assessments: Strengthening real-time health services tracking and monitoring in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic
Country implementation support package
WHO has developed a suite of frontline service readiness assessments in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic to strengthen country capacities to track and monitor current and surge capacities to deliver essential COVID-19 tools while maintaining other essential health services. The facility and community assessment tools can help countries detect and monitor health systems bottlenecks and health facility capacity and readiness gaps throughout the rapidly changing and uncertain course of the pandemic.
The below package of technical support materials and guidance can be used to aid country implementation of the tools. The package focuses primarily on the implementation of three core tools: COVID-19 case management capacities: diagnostics, therapeutics, vaccine readiness, and other health products; Continuity of essential health services: Facility assessment tool; and Community needs, perceptions and demand: community assessment tool. The package can be used by Ministries of Health, WHO Country Offices, WHO Regional Offices, and partners.
