Templates are available to help survey coordinators develop their implementation plans and request ethical approval from local authorities. Item rationales are also available for all risk factors covered by the STEPS survey to further assist survey coordinators in authoring their implementation plans. Please refer to Part 2, Section 1 of the STEPS Manual for further information on planning and preparing for a STEPS survey.

Sampling tools

The Sample size calculator can assist you in determining the appropriate sample size for your STEPS survey and the Sampling workbook can help you in selecting the sample for your STEPS survey. Directions are provided within each file and more detailed information on calculating sample size and drawing a sample can be found in Part 2, Section 2 of the STEPS Manual.
