Demographic Change and Healthy Ageing
Within the Department for Social Determinants of Health, the Demographic Change and Healthy Ageing (DHA) Unit supports the development of social and physical environments that are responsive to demographic change and foster healthy ageing. DHA provides strategic leadership on these topics; develops evidence, norms and standards, including implementation tools; builds national capacities to address these issues; and fosters global advocacy. DHA engages a broad range of partners and networks to scale up effective action in countries, and together with the Ageing and Health Unit is the Secretariat for the United Nations Decade of Healthy Ageing (2021-2030).
