Within the Social Determinants of Health Department, the Safety and Mobility (SAM) Unit promotes sustainable solutions to the safety and mobility challenges of today, including road traffic injuries, drowning and falls. The SAM Unit does so by providing strategic leadership on these topics; developing evidence, norms and standards, including implementation tools; building national capacities to address these issues; and fostering global advocacy. The SAM Unit engages a broad range of partners and networks to scale up effective action and track progress in countries.
