In Thailand, 1 in 10 mothers give birth prematurely.
Babies born before 37 weeks face risks of death, disability, and delayed development, impacting both mother and family.
This World Health Day 2025, WHO Thailand launches a year-long campaign to support the health of mothers and preterm babies.
There are advice for mothers to:
- Eat a healthy diet
- Avoid smoking, alcohol, and drugs
- Get regular prenatal check-ups starting at week 12th
- Manage stress and rest well
