Clinical trials oversight
The National Regulatory Authority (NRA) plays a crucial role in the oversight of clinical trials to ensure the safety, efficacy, scientific validity and ethical integrity of research involving human participants. This oversight is vital for maintaining public trust in clinical research and ensuring that medical products, once approved, are both safe and effective.
This responsibility includes reviewing and authorizing clinical trial applications, conducting good clinical practices (GCP) inspections, and collaborating with ethics committees to protect participants. The NRA also monitors safety through adverse event reporting, reviews trial amendments and evaluates final study reports for market authorization. Through its regulatory oversight, the NRA helps protect the rights and safety of participants, ensures the integrity of clinical data and safeguards public health.
