- People can ask friends, family and people in the community for advice about health
- Questions to ask might be: Can you share your health experiences with me? Do you know where I can get health information and services in the community? Can you help me or find me support?
- Friends and family may not always have expertise or the most up to date information, so it is good get information from a health worker
- People can also get information from trusted sources in the media or on the internet
- Before sharing information with family or friends it is good to ask: How does this make me feel? Why am I sharing this? How do I know if it’s true? Where did it come from?
- If you know something is false, or if it makes you angry, don’t share it
