Go WHO

Go WHO

“Go WHO” is a coaching workshop designed to encourage young professionals from underrepresented and unrepresented Member States to consider a career with WHO and coach them on how to prepare should they wish to join. It aims to ensure the Organization’s work reflects and benefits from the contributions of all Member States. The workshop has been introduced in China, Fiji, Japan and the Republic of Korea and has attracted more than 500 young health professionals.

By the end of the workshops, participants will be familiar with WHO’s core functions and role in global health, WHO’s recruitment process, and WHO’s competency model. This knowledge allows them to be better able to respond to written tests for WHO vacancies and competency-based interview questions.

In 2017, the “Go WHO Fellowship” was developed as a two-year on-the-job training programme to attract young health professionals from those countries and equip them with the skills to succeed in a career in global health. Go WHO has also been expanded to include voluntary and competitive internship and study tour opportunities that foster skills and knowledge introduced through the workshops.
