Communication for Health (C4H)

Communication is a powerful tool to address growing and complex health challenges. It can help to change people’s knowledge, attitudes and behaviours and empower them to make choices that help protect and improve health and well-being.

Communication for Health (C4H) works to leverage the full power of communication to improve health outcomes at the individual, community and societal levels. It brings together a set of principles and practices to help ensure communication interventions are strategic and evidence informed.

C4H brings together theories, techniques and tools from social, behavioural and communication sciences. It combines data-driven planning, storytelling, and monitoring, evaluation and learning. It builds on six principles for IMPACT through which communication must be: Informed by data and theory; Measurable; Planned; Audience- and people-centred; Collaborative; and Targeted.
