The Republic of Fiji was hit by Tropical Cyclone Winston on 20 - 21 February 2016. The Category 5 cyclone resulted in 44 deaths, over 125 injuries and left thousands without shelter, food and safe water. WHO supported the Ministry of Health and Medical Services in preparing a rapid public health risk assessment to provide those involved in the response with baseline health information and technical guidance on the major health threats.
