The World Health Organization (WHO) multi-country office in Samoa is seeking qualified candidates for two Affiliate Special Services Agreement (SSA) positions: 

  1. One Health Coordinator – based in the Ministry of Health
  2. One Health Coordinator – based in the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries

Background

These positions are funded under the Pandemic Fund Project, with WHO serving as one of the Implementing Entities, and are WHO Affiliate roles embedded within the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, providing support to strengthen One Health coordination, preparedness, and response at the human, animal and environment interface.

Role summary

The successful candidates will: 

  • Support national One Health coordination mechanisms
  • Strengthen multisectoral collaboration between human, animal, and environmental health sectors
  • Support planning, implementation, and monitoring of One Health activities aligned with national and international frameworks 
  • Provide technical and coordination support to relevant ministries and stakeholders

These are WHO Affiliate (SSA) non-staff positions, open to locally recruited candidates only, with remuneration commensurate with Principal Level (A16). The initial contract will be until 31 December 2026, and extensions are subject to project and contracting requirements.
