Background:
The draft vision document of the new Regional Director Dr Saia Ma’u Piukala, entitled “Weaving health for families, communities and societies of the Western Pacific Region: Working together to improve health and save lives” will be presented at the forthcoming Regional Committee Meeting in October 2024. In preparation for this presentation for adoption, it is proposed to convene a series of consultative meetings to inform all Member States and secure feedback prior to finalization of the draft document. The first engagement will be a virtual consultative meeting with all Member States on 16 May 2024.
The draft vision document was developed under the guidance of the Integrated Transition Team and received inputs from all Heads of WHO country offices, Technical Directors in the regional office and G-staff representatives.
Member States are invited to contribute their views by sharing written feedback on any or all of the documents using an electronic form that will be shared by email with the representatives of member states.
The consultation period is from 15 May to 15 June 2024.
