Reviewing WHO's work in the Western Pacific

The World Health Organization Regional Committee for the Western Pacific, WHO's governing body in the Region, will review WHO's work in the Region from 24 to 28 September in Hanoi. About 100 representatives, including ministers of health, from the Region's 37 countries and areas will attend.

Among the topics to be reviewed are the rising prevalence of noncommunicable diseases, violence and injury prevention, neglected tropical diseases, tobacco control, malaria and artemisinin resistance, HIV prevention and treatment, measles elimination, the health-related Millennium Development Goals and health financing.
