The World Health Organization (WHO), in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and the GovTech Agency, is supporting the refinement of Bhutan’s National Digital Health Strategy and costed Action Plan. Aligned with the WHO-ITU building blocks for digital health transformation, the strategy focuses on evidence-based, actionable solutions to drive impactful digital health initiatives.
To advance this effort, WHO is providing technical support during a two-day national stakeholder workshop aimed at finalizing and refining the draft strategy. The workshop brings together key stakeholders, including the National Task Force, Ministry of Health and GovTech Working Group Members, Chiefs of Departments, and development partners such as UNICEF, UNDP, and JICA.
Adding further momentum, Dr Karthik Adapa, Regional Adviser for Digital Health at WHO SEARO, is in Bhutan from 10-12 February 2025 to guide the final validation and ensure alignment with national priorities, regional frameworks, and global best practices.
Together, we are building a resilient, inclusive, and sustainable digital health ecosystem for Bhutan!
