Emergency logistical supplies handed over to Health Emergency Operation Center

Kathmandu, Bagmati province - At the request of the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), WHO Country Office for Nepal provided emergency logistical supplies to the Health Emergency Operation Center (HEOC), MoHP. These supplies include 52 WHO Major Trauma Backpacks, four sets of Interagency Emergency Health Kits (IEHK), three sets of Trauma Emergency and Surgery Kits (TESK) and cholera kits. These resources will significantly enhance Nepal's health emergency preparedness and response capacity, as well as strengthen the health emergency management capabilities of the hub satellite hospital network. Valued at over US$ 145 879, the WHO Major Trauma backpacks will be distributed to all the hub and satellite hospitals across Nepal, equipping them with essential resources for managing critically ill and injured patients. The IEHK, TESK and cholera kits will be sent to designated hospitals which will support in clinical management of thousands of patients, including surgical operations. The supplies were supported by the U.S. Department of State. WHO remains committed to support the MoHP in strengthening Nepal’s healthcare system and improving the country's emergency preparedness and response.
