21-22 July | Kathmandu, Bagmati Province – Stakeholders including local level leaders and focal persons from all provinces involved in the piloting on the digitization of COVID-19 vaccination records, shared their best practices, lessons learned, and recommendations in a two-day review meeting. Led by the Information Management Unit/Integrated Health Information Management Section, under the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), WHO had initiated the pilot in 7 selected palikas of 7 provinces to better record management and vaccination processes, and ensure equitable allocation of vaccines. Stakeholders in the meeting - organized by MoHP, and supported by USAID and WHO - recommended microplanning in the coordination processes, paperless digitization, regular software updates, offline recording models for remote areas, and better coordination between the three levels of the government. WHO, Country Office for Nepal, will now support to prepare and disseminate the findings report from the meeting, which will guide stakeholders for future decisions and improvement.
