Thimi, Bagmati province - Minister of Health and Population Pradip Paudel and WHO Representative to Nepal Dr Rajesh Sambhajirao Pandav joined over 250 participants to observe World Tuberculosis (TB) Day at the National TB Control Centre (NTCC) under the theme "Yes! We Can End TB: Commit, Invest, Deliver." Honorable speakers, including Dr Pandav, emphasized the significance of this year’s theme as a powerful call to action, hope and accountability, highlighting the urgency of eliminating TB. Thirteen individuals and institutions were recognized for their contributions in helping to advance TB elimination efforts. The event was an occasion to disseminate the key findings from the Nepal Drug-Resistant Tuberculosis Survey and National Tuberculosis Patient Cost Survey, along with the National TB Program factsheet. A multi-drug-resistant TB survivor shared her experience, reinforcing the message that TB is curable and encouraging timely treatment.
