Kathmandu, Bagmati Province – On World Malaria Day, the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) organized an interaction program with media personnel to increase awareness about Nepal’s significant progress towards malaria elimination and national goal to eliminate malaria by 2025. In the presence of dignitaries from Department of Health Services, National Health Training Center, Epidemiology and Disease Control Division, and partners, the program highlighted the need for advocacy and engagement with wider private and non-health sectors, alongside strengthening surveillance activities at the sub-national level and accelerating implementation of elimination strategies in high-risk areas. WHO, as the main technical partner of the National Malaria Program, will provide technical guidance for program implementation and continue to support the MoHP and stakeholders to attain the national goal.
