Kathmandu, Bagmati province – The National Youth Movement Against Tuberculosis (NYMAT) Nepal, in collaboration with WHO South-East Asia Regional Office, hosted the South-East Asia Regional Online Dialogue o 25 March to mark the celebration of World Tuberculosis (TB) Day 2025. The event, supported by WHO Country Office for Nepal, gathered over 200 youth advocates and TB experts to share global and regional challenges, alongside innovative ideas and best practices for tackling TB. The event also marked the launch of WHO’s 1+1 Initiative in the WHO South-East Asia Region. WHO’s 1+1 initiative focuses on involving young people in the fight against TB, empowering them to amplify their voices and efforts to end the disease. Recognizing youth as vital partners, the initiative encourages collaboration and prioritizes their active participation in TB prevention. With a strong call to commit, invest and deliver for ending TB, the dialogue reinforced the collective effort needed to end TB. WHO continues to support efforts to end TB in Nepal and globally, highlighting youth-driven solutions and innovation in TB care.
