This webinar was held on the 4th August.
According to current data, approximately 80% of symptomatic COVID-19 cases are considered non-severe, presenting with mild or moderate symptoms and do not require hospitalization and can be successfully cared for at home or in community shelters and facilities.
However, these patients require close monitoring and may eventually need a higher level of care therefore crucial to create a system to follow and monitor such patients, to early identification of any deterioration or any complication arises at home and have a clear referral pathway if access to assessment for higher level of care is needed.
Home and community interventions have played a vital role in alleviating pressure within the health care facilities and ensure complications for patients are managed early.
This webinar explores different models of care, resources and tools and required to establish an effective and safe system for management of non-severe COVID-19 cases at home and within community settings.
Six presenters from across the world shared their interventions and experience of community and home based care, bringing their expertise in triaging patients, monitoring at home (with health care teams and tools) or community shelter, referral pathways and their approach to managing complications.
