Laboratory Management Series (Part One, General Management)

As part of the WHO Public Health Laboratories Knowledge Sharing Platform, a three-part webinar series on core competencies relating to good Laboratory Management was delivered. In the session, the first of the three webinars, we learnt about the various roles & responsibilities of laboratory managers and common management styles. We listened to laboratory staff share their experiences in different management positions and situations and finally, were introduced to some organizational tools managers can used to optimize their laboratory processes.

  • Dr Gulmira Kalmambetova - Head of National Reference Laboratory, National TB Center, Bishek, Kyrgyzstan

Webinar series delivered in English, with interpretation in Arabic, French, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish. 

To compliment the information provided in the webinar series, an activity workbook was created to practice application of the knowledge provided.

Launched in May 2020, this knowledge sharing platform aims to enhance WHO guidance dissemination and best practice sharing among public health laboratories globally. This WHO platform contributes to the ACT-Accelerator Diagnostics pillar activities by enabling country preparedness. It is funded by the  European Commission’s CBRN Centres of Excellence Initiative.
