Immunization Analysis and Insights
The Immunization Analysis & Insights Unit is a data hub and analytics engine for immunization data and performs analytics. The unit supports the work of other technical units within the department of Immunization, Vaccines and Biologicals (IVB) and drives innovation in data quality and use in countries. It also has responsibility for IVB’s global work on VPD surveillance and generating data and evidence on the public health and economic impact of vaccines.

Influenza Economics Assessments

National governments require economic data on the burden of influenza disease, the cost effectiveness of the vaccine, and the projected implementation costs of a maternal influenza immunization programme in their country in order to inform the allocation of limited resources and prioritization of interventions in the health sector. To support decision making and implementation efforts in countries, WHO has developed the Economic Value Chain for Influenza Vaccination.

WHO offers a Manual for Estimating Disease Burden Associated With Seasonal Influenza to countries. With disease burden estimates established, the below resource documents can then support the assessment of the economic and social benefits of introducing influenza vaccination or to expand existing vaccination strategies.
