- The extra production of food and resources can pollute the environment
- By buying, storing and cooking food sustainably, people will be able to throw away less food
- If people reuse and recycling things, there will be less waste
- Governments must give people information on how to reduce pollution
- There are human rights related to consumption and production, for example:
- Right to health
- Right to adequate food and the right to safe drinking water
- Right of all peoples to freely dispose of their natural resources
