Kathmandu, Bagmati Province - In response to a request from the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), WHO Country Office for Nepal handed over sets of simulation laboratory equipment to the National Health Training Center (NHTC), MoHP. These sets have all the training equipment required to conduct NHTC-endorsed trainings which include mannequins, ventilators, defibrillator trainers, electrocardiogram and patient monitors, amongst others. This equipment set is instrumental in establishing provincial simulation labs at sites identified by the NHTC and will further facilitate skills-based, face-to-face training for health-care workers, providing them with the opportunity to practice and refine their lifesaving skills under the supervision of experienced trainers. This initiative will enhance the quality of health-care services in Nepal by generating skilled professionals and contributing to the development of a resilient health-care system capable of effectively responding to disasters and public health emergencies. With the completion of this handover, WHO has supported the establishment of one national simulation lab and seven provincial simulation labs.
